The Kosciuszko Foundation proudly presents The Real Within: A New Generation of Polish Realism, an exhibition showcasing works by eight renowned Polish contemporary artists whose works have earned international acclaim and a place in the prestigious Lunar Codex* project.

The Real Within: A New Generation of Polish Realism - Exhibition at The Kosciuszko Foundation
  • Daria Solar - Artistic Director
  • Samuel Peralta - Honorary Curator, Lunar Codex Founder
  • Featured artists: Katarzyna Adamiak-Jaśnikowska, Eva Evangelista, Agnieszka Kotarska, Jakub Podlodowski, Ewa Prończuk-Kuziak, Daria Solar, Katarzyna Widmańska, and Anna Wypych.

The exhibition celebrates a remarkable convergence of tradition and innovation, marks the centennial of the Foundation’s activities, and pays tribute to the rich legacy of Polish art while highlighting the talent and vision of a new generation of Polish realism painters.

The featured works resonate with the Foundation's permanent collection, including masterpieces from 19th-century Polish luminaries. Thus, they create a dialogue between the timeless artistry of the past and the dynamic creativity of the present.

Through this unique exhibit, visitors will encounter the enduring influence of Polish realism, reimagined by contemporary painters for a global and even interstellar audience. Celebrate 100 years of cultural stewardship, artistic excellence, and the unbreakable link between heritage and innovation.

  • Exhibition Opening - Thursday, March 20, 7 PM
  • On view until June 30, 2025
  • The Kosciuszko Foundation: 15 E 65th Street, NYC
* The Lunar Codex project is an initiative to send a vast collection of contemporary art, literature, music, and other creative works from around the world to the Moon, essentially creating a "time capsule" on the lunar surface, spearheaded by Canadian physicist and artist Samuel Peralta; it aims to archive works from thousands of artists, writers, and filmmakers across multiple countries, preserving a snapshot of human creativity for future generations to discover.
