Fat Thursday is the last Thursday before Lent. Because Lent is a time of fasting, the days leading up to Ash Wednesday provide the last opportunity for eating sweets until Easter. According to Polish tradition it is bad luck to not eat a "Pączek" (Jelly Donut) on that day. At Piast, our homemade Pączki are made fresh daily, and we make thousands of them for Fat Thursday. Come and pick up some delicious luck for the coming year on February 24th!
We'll be making thousands, but they WILL sell out, so come early or buy online:

Also be sure to try our homemade Bow Tie Cookies, a light crisp pastry shaped like a twist ribbon, lightly fried, and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Our hot foods will feature our famous hot crepes filled with farmer's cheese, sugar, and vanilla... yum!
Finally, if you're looking to bake some goodies yourself, pick up some authentic imported Polish flour on sale, as well as fresh yeast. Smacznego!
